In an absolute auction, the property will be sold to the highest bidder, no matter what the final bid is. There is no minimum price, which can attract more interest and encourage stronger bidding.
In a reserve auction, the seller sets a minimum price they’re willing to accept (called a reserve). If bidding doesn’t meet or exceed that amount, the seller isn’t obligated to sell. The reserve amount may or may not be disclosed to bidders.
Consignment means a seller entrusts their property, item, or asset to the auction company to market and sell on their behalf. The auction company handles the promotion, bidding process, and sale execution. Once sold, the seller receives the proceeds minus any commission or agreed-upon fees.
